Chuodho Women Group is a Community-Based Organization (CBO) established in 1986 and based in Nyatike Sub County, Migori County. The CBO is working to end hunger and poverty and care for the community by using sustainable practices and engaging small holder farming in agriculture and livestock development. The CBO was founded in simple belief that ending hunger begins with giving people the means to feed themselves, generate income and achieve sustainable livelihoods. CWG has the potential to reaching 100,000 people as a contribution to the total 1million people targeted in the 10 year plan. The group has a total is 26 members (17women and 9 men). It is managed by a management committee consisting of the executive arm which is composed of; the chairman, project coordinator, secretary, and the treasurer whose mandate is executing day to day activities of the group. The team is supported by the various sub committees like marketing, production, finance and procurement committees. Currently the organization is working in both Kuria west Sub county and Nyatike sub county. The group was supported by LVEMP II-KENYA to establish a poultry farm in the year 2014. They were granted to buy 600 indigenous poultry birds and 260egg capacity incubator. Because of low productivity of indigenous chicken, the group sold all the indigenous chicken and bought improved indigenous chicken which has high productivity and profitability. To date the group has 5000 improved indigenous chicken and 3600 egg capacity incubator. The group was support by Agricultural Sector Development Support Program in capacity build and training on brooding, vaccination, disease management and marketing of poultry farm produce. In 2019 The National Agricultural Rural Inclusive Growth Project supported the group in procurement of chicken dressing and packaging machine. CWG aims to facilitate the creation of new products, services and markets that smallholder farmers require to grow their poultry enterprises
